How do they not see that, when our Earth burns, no amount of money or power will mean a thing?

They literally do not care - perhaps they feel their wealth will inoculate them when oceans rise and storms ensue and crops die - or perhaps there are some like Jones who are just so overwhelmingly consumed by greed, he does not care for the future nor believe he will suffer the impacts.

As the boss of Warner Bros said, Trump was preferred for him despite Trump being what he is and Project 2025 being an anti environment manifesto - because Trump is good for business.

They are in their own bubbles and perhaps such lives inoculate them from cares outside of their own immediate self and material self interest.

🙋Firstly, don't apologise for not posting every day. I for one don't expect it, & I'm sure most don't! It is clear how much work goes into what you bring us AND we all need to have a good life balance so we can keep working together for a better today & tomorrow 👍

🖤❤️It is life affirming (& hope affirming) to watch the hikoi progress & see & hear the wonderful activists so eloquent & articulate in both te reo & english - so proud to see all ages & ethnicities attending & supporting from around the motu 👏👍 I never would have believed we would be having this fight today after all the progress towards a more equitable Aotearoa, with the caveat there was patently so much more to be done, but to actually go BACKWARDS⁉️🤬

As I have already shared, but find it so helpful so here I go again 🤷 at the Otautahi activation event yesterday we were told to remember the Te Tiriti o Waitangi was simply a "Constitutional Relationship Agreement" - which for me negates any legitimacy of any need to "clarify", "explain", "interpret", "relitigate" etc. The sovereign people who lived in Aotearoa at the time, made an agreement with people wanting to settle from elsewhere (specifically Britain/the Crown at that point) as to how their constitutional arrangements would work going forward, with no intention of Tangata Whenua that they were ceding sovereignty or self-determination. There is only ONE SIDE to that "Constitutional Relationship Agreement" who did NOT keep their word, and it is despicable that ANY govt would STILL be honouring in the breach and not the observance.

As for cowardly Luxon, as people have mentioned before, this is not a "private members bill" but a whole of GOVERNMENT bill - so Luxon cannot avoid responsibility for allowing this to proceed, both as a divisive anti-Maori bill, but also an exhorbitant waste of taxpayer money for something he has vowed to block later (f he is to be trusted⁉️)

🤷Sorry, I was so uplifted & joyous after coming home yesterday & watching the Tamaki Makaurau hokoi videos, but remembering WHY we still need to be fighting... 🤷😥🤬

The Trump appointments only make sense if you accept that he is burning down the house, hoping to make a lot of money looting the wreckage.

They make perfect sense for the Trump world - and were well forecast in advance.

.....I agree with you.
