Please note - I have added to the article above that on the David Seymour photos, Judith Collins stands proudly to the left of Seymour and Brian Tamaki - beaming very proudly.

And a good person provided a photo of Collins and Tamaki - which I have also added in for context.

They have become emboldened. I was part of the counter protest that followed Tāmaki & his Destiny cohort when they did their march down Queen St on the same day that Posie Parker was at Albert Park. Destiny goons tried to start fights with counter protesters and then when they got to the bottom of Queen St they did a 180 degree turn and pushed through the thin police line before smashing into counter protesters and steamrolling through. I laid a complaint with police and said that Brian Tamaki had incited violence. After 6 months I got an email from police saying there was insufficient evidence. Nothing was done. And now, two years on they feel they are above the law and can bully and intimidate wherever they like. Something should have been done 2 years ago.

Did you read the reasons above? Also I forgot to emphasise that in those "David Seymour promises Tamaki things" photos, Judith Collins stands proudly - beaming over the speech.

I recall Collins also rented her luxury accomodation to Brian Tamaki, if memory serves.

Yes. Her rental on Paratai Drive back in 2014.

How do they get away with saying there isn't enough evidence. There's plenty of video footage. I wonder if it's like Tim Jago, where his case was dropped for the same reason. But they got him in the end. Maybe we need to push back against Tāmaki. What are the police afraid of?

Thank you for getting this story out so quickly. I've just been looking at the footage of the library thuggery. It's not a protest. What is there to protest about reading a story about weather while wearing a costume? It's a fake ideology to drum up outrage and make Brian some more money. It's the same reason people like Ani O'Brien have jumped on the terf train. When I feel angry (and boy, do the anti-trans crowd get my blood boiling) I remember the Posie Parker event. People showed up. There were thousands in support of the transgender community. And there was so much love and support towards each other. Of course a couple of moments of trouble made the news but that wasn't my experience. We can make a difference but we need to turn up in real life where possible. Show that we're a force to be reckoned with. Show each other support.

Beautiful as always - may I quote your comment elsewhere, Victoria?

If the police can arrest a young boy for wearing his boxing club insignia on a tee shirt, why the hell aren't they arresting these motorcycle riding, patch clad imbeciles for peddling messages of hate and intolerance. Harassing and intimidating women and children in a public space of learning and community. I'm not religious but for "christ sake" wake up and see them for what they are. SCUM!!!

They are a gang. Plain and simple. Arrest them for their patches. If not - why not?

Same as Nazi symbols - seeing as the world is facing a renewed and concerted fascist movement, led by some of the most powerful figures in the world - those should definitely go.

Apparently the focus for police is on “criminality” so…. What the thugs did bt terrorising women and children wasn’t criminal? Or maybe it just didn’t involve crimes against property or involve drugs… just people. That would be consistent with the focus of this coalition govt.

This topic leads me to feel quite angry. Especially as I saw Mitchell blame and warn and say how they would crack down on the slightest disorder during the Hikoi. I bet they were so disappointed that it was full of positive energy.

And this - not a squeak. Deplorable, beyond deplorable, this government.

I couldn’t agree more, I felt angry and sickened. The blatant disregard for people’s right to assemble peacefully not to mention harm to vulnerable and marginalised minorities. All those years of work towards a more tolerant understanding inclusive society can so easily be lost 😞. We must stand strong in the face of these ignorant people. What a pity they don’t get real therapy instead of hiding their shame and anger behind some bogus ‘religious’ banner.

Such a good point, property rights ahead of people's rights. But how do the libertarians phrase it so it sounds palatable? Oh yeah, "individual rights", where the individual is a corporation.

Don’t forget - Liberty! Freedom! Prosperity!

Always has to be read against Theil’s thesis that democracy cannot co-exist with liberty, or something to that effect.

They disrupted the Rainbow Parade on Ponsonby Rd tonight.

They need to be run out of town.

Thanks for the hope you bring us, MT. Our inability to stop any of this (so far) is so demoralising. As long as the coalition continues, so, too, will the carnage. I hope for an implosion, but they have already proved that they will sell their souls for power. So it is up to us. If there is to be a rising, or peaceful resistance, or barricades in the streets, this great-grandmother will be there.

Christianity from its very foundation has had a deeply unhealthy attitude to sex. The most preposterous doctrine is the immaculate conception and the virgin birth.

And I'd say there are many good and spiritual Christians but unfortunately much of what we see is so convoluted, it can feel quite disheartening.

A man who used to work for me had the Bible as an app on his phone. I encouraged it as it gave him strength and purpose. For me my consolation is Nietzsche. His work The Anti Christ is not a condemnation of Christ but of the church and the priest. I see Christ as a radical progressive economically and socially. I enjoy his parables as they are subtle. For example why does the timid servant who buried his talent say to his master that the master reaps where he doesn’t sow? Devout Christians tell me that the timid servant made it up. I don’t think so. It makes no sense for him to lie to the person who knows the truth. That being so, why is the master depicted as a hard man?

Pope Francis said “Who am I to judge?” when asked about his attitude to gay people. So even the Catholic Church is leaving Tamaki in its wake.

These propagandists will ignore and/or attack all sources that do not agree with their ideology.

A central message of Christ’s teachings is avoid being judgmental. He came to the defense of a woman who was unfaithful in her marriage. But I see the tendency to judge as the most egregious sin of all. This applies to Islam as well. In their world view god judges on judgement day. If the believer seeks to exercise god’s prerogative then surely that entails making themselves god. I almost wish there was a judgement day to hear god pointing out the worst sin of all committed by hypocrites.

Tamaki got an easy ride from the police during the covid lockdowns. This has been going on for a long time.

He looks like he has a large enough following, he's recruited many gang members and he is loud and proud of his resources, and not afraid to use them.
