I couldn't possibly listen all the way through that horrible dialogue from those two morally deficient men so as always thank you for doing so on my and others behalf and accurately commenting. The way Luxon keeps agreeing with Hoskins is nauseating in the extreme. He is a complete wind sock when it comes to expressing opinions isn't he? I mean he really doesn't sound all that convincing even when he is given a fan boy platform like ZB. I didn't think my lack of respect for the guy could sink any lower but moments like this plunge my derision for him ever lower.
I didn't realise Luxon had made those comments in an interview with Mike Hosking. What a repulsive man Hosking is. He's basically saying that the government could provide an asbestos sandwich to kids and no one should complain because at least they're getting it free. What an arsehole. And then you've got the PM totally ignoring the fact that his government has failed to meet all 3 child poverty targets and that we now have an increasing working poor. Food banks are not talking about helping beneficiaries, they're talking about needing to help working people. And that's for many reasons: minimum wage is not a living wage, more families are losing what were secure corporate jobs and are fighting for minimum wage jobs, disabled people can often only work part time. Then you've got all the healthcare workers and state workers made redundant by the government. In top of all that, you've got a government sanctioning beneficiaries. Surely the least Luxon can do is feed the kids one healthy nutritious meal a day. Please sir, can they have some more 🙏
What was the problem that Luxon and Seymour reckoned needed fixing -was it that the previous school lunch programme was simply too effective and provided food that was too healthy?
Why do other wealthy countries provide school lunches for all school children? Could that be part of the secret of their success?
We can’t possibly want flourishing, happy kids. They’ll grow into functioning, educated adults…
Keep them poor and you’ll always have a low minimum wage.
Look at the US. I was there as a student from 1998-2001. I earned $5.50 an hour. That seemed like a lot of money compared to the $7 NZ an hour I was getting paid at Pak N Save before heading overseas. Almost three decades later minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. No wonder people need multiple jobs.
You are so right - it is Erica Stanford as Minister for Education who should be taking responsibility for the failures of her Associate Minister and his school slop scheme. Apparently she also did not agree with Seymour's restrictions on teacher's only days but she kept that to herself until recently revealed on Q&A.
My Daughter always said Digusting as "S" was for Sneaky Snakes until her pallet allowed her the ability to pronounce "S's". So, we have some very digusting Sneaky Snakes making the rules at the current moment in time.
This was the plan all along. Push a plate of Shite Policy onto the Table to intentionally Fail & use the excuse of "If you don't like eating Shite, we'll just cancel the contract & funding, so parents & Principals can foot the Costs & leave the government to fund important things like Fast Track to Full Blown Privatisation and not be distracted by Woke People reaching for something they don't deserve.
Pretty unbelievable how these folks have gotten this far with ALL of Seymours Policy Corrections & Regulation Changes to reduce Government Costs off their Books & onto ours in such short order!!
Have we heard back yet on the Te Tiriti principles Bill in limbo, so David has a chance to arrange his Public Referendum to Cancel Te Tiriti? Shame Big Kahuna Jones has his finger on the Defunding Button and it's gettin pretty Itchy!

Yeah he's pretty..how do I say this politely, it's hard to.
He's not someone who commands respect and he feels weaker than a... again hard to find words.
Essentially - I hear you.

They live in a different world!

How much could a marmite sandwich cost anyway? Ten dollars?
One more very quick comment, does Luxon know the price of Marmite?

I think she wants a tilt at the leadership so is trying to look tough.
Re: the meeting, Seymour stood her up with an excuse and she has directed media back to David Seymour again.
🤬
