Are Americans really on board with Trump wanting to take over the Panama Canal, Greenland, and now Gaza? You wonder how much more crazy it can get and then it does! I do worry how the world is becoming more polarised. We used to talk about supporting parties, now it’s a clearly defined left and right divide. We see Trump firing decent people, locking them out of their jobs and calling them “Radical leftist lunatics”. Do Republican Americans really see their neighbours in that way? And then we have our own politicians stoking the fires, throwing around ‘woke’ and other Trumpism catch phrases. Putin invaded Ukraine to ‘denazify’ it and the world decries this, yet there is Elon openly supporting Germany’s most far right party. I keep thinking I need a break from politics and world news, but you can’t get away from because it affects us so completely. Sheer greed and love of power is driving our world at the moment. The James Bond villains are out in force.
It's been an intentional turning of previously conservative voters to this new way, which accepts that is happening. Importantly, their playbook doesn't care about those who protest - they only need to woo and sow doubt in sufficient numbers to hold the rest back.

The Book was published in 1941 from Steinbeck's Trip around the Baja California Peninsula, collecting Marine Creatures from the many Bays, Inlet's and Islands, along with his Sociological Observations of the Officialdom & other Indigenous people he met along the way as He & the Intrepid Crew Circumnavigated the Waters of the Sea of Cortez.
I think a picture of your Slug appears on page 288 in the Illustrated Section, or it's Marine Counterpart.
Johns observations were mainly of the Human Populations rather than the Invertebrate varieties collected. A slight take off from Grapes of Wrath he previously wrote.
I did the same Trip on a Sailing Vessel in the late '90's and noted the changes over the years I noticed that hadn't yet come about at the time in 1941 when his book was published.
I'm finding that reading Steinbecks brilliant Work in Anthropology & Sociology are helping me better understand the weirdness of today world that really haven't changed much from those time during the Great Depression Years.
Jared also mentioned the huge Natural Gas Deposits in Gaza's International Waters, but that hasn't gotten a mention publicly, as yet. It's the Big White Zionist Elephant in the room and most likely the main Reason for Trumps Interest in buying Gaza & getting his hands on all the Oil & Natural Gas there.
