🙋 Question for legal eagles or whoever might know... If the times are "statutory" how can one person change them just by instruction to workers? Doesn't "statutory" mean that Parliament has decided what is legally required ⁉️😱
Putting my hopeful hat on, a future govt might not be able to reverse purchases etc already made, but they can change the rules about such things as sending profits off shore as opposed to spending them here, & numbers of days/weeks/months a property needs to be owner/occupied - there has to be a way to signal to potential buyers that the rules will change with a change of govt, which could discourage them in the first place (much like the oil co's aren't keen on buying drilling rights knowing a different govt will change the rules 🤷)
They are prepared for this and are structuring contracts in a way that will penalize us if we rescind I suspect. Also once the regulatory standards bill is passed, and actions are taken under that - future govts are likely to face legal action and or financial risks.
I hope the opposition is getting legal advice but I suspect the coalition already has.
I was thinking along the same lines Cindy. Hopefully they mean 15 working days not counting weekends and public holidays as defined in Holidays Act 2003
Yes, it is corruption and it is, us.
Keep up the good work, much respect!
Absolutely corruption. How has one person obtained that much power?
It’s like Trump in the States - none of our systems appear set up to deal with entirely bad faith operators
'The Great Negotiator' handed it to him on a plate.
Hon Christopher Luxon, Prime Minister of Coalition Sellouts

It's clear corruption. By the time we get a chance to vote these grifters the fire sale will be complete
It appears they’ve designed it this way; not going to lie.
Absolutely they have
And if anything turns to custard, wee mental davey, can and will blame LINZ staff
Yes, or the next Government.
