Whenever I consider that Judith Collins is STILL in Parliament and STILL has cabinet positions of important nature, it reminds me just how bankrupt the National Party and this government is of talent, honesty and intelligence. And don't get me started on Chris Penk!

An excellent roundup, ngā mihi. Tama Potaka is dangerous in all of his portfolios. Hope he doesn’t use DOC huts for emergency housing…

I nodded at the first part and admitted a chuckle at the end. Agree Potaka doesn’t seem great at all and appears as a very willing participant to National Party antics.

This govt is basically a Shakespearean play - a mad king (Luxon) ; a tragi-comedian (Seymour & his Ministry of Regulation fiasco 😱) ; a complete & devastating tragedy led by Tama Potaka in more than one portfolio (DoC funding is ALWAYS slashed under a National-led govt - I've been through it 🤢 & the loss of skilled people doing vital conservation work, not to mention losing taonga species... 😥🤬) ; deception & lies (Health, Policing, foreign affairs, insulation, emergency housing, missing & down grading of targets) ; the disruptors working in the wings with knives under their cloaks (Judith Collins & Winston Peters et al); irrational baby Simeon Brown blocking any local roading project that includes cycle lanes- ad infinitum 🤷

Only it's not entertaining in the least eh 🤢🤮

💚A bright spot with reasonable & achievable Greens plan for tackling climate change - IF we make this a one-term govt & give sensible rational people the reins of power 🤷

🤔Interesting to hear Chris Hipkins push back on whether it would be the first Nat led govt to only have one term - he pointed out that the figures show that if we had had MMP & not first-past-the-post elections in the past, Muldoon & others would have also been out after one term 😱 So it is not a pipe dream if people are motivated & determined 💪

A detailed wrapup and well worth the read. Thank you

My brain went to "derailed" wrapup, which I still think is appropriate. The insanity that continues to be manifested on a daily basis by this government is stunning, but unsurprising. A lot is rinsed and repeated from past regimes, with the addition of absurdities from coalition zealots and imports from old Tories and northern hemisphere conservatives. The 'trickle down' they believe in is actually just a rock slide of destruction, and their policies are the dynamite

poetic ministry of regulation / seymour self feeding snake..

reminds me of a great everytime I die lyric:

When we think we've reached the end

We're only back where we begin

also great line from that song: The gravity of the battle means nothing to those at peace
