They don’t (won’t) see the homeless because they don’t (won’t) go where they are.
Both Luxon and Potaka were challenged by Opposition to meet frontline agencies, and homeless today in QT. Both waffled on in response. My eyes nearly glazed over, but I think it was a no. What a surprise…
I’ve written to Kieran McAnulty today to ask Labour’s stance on setting up an independent anti-corruption agency.
Shared MT. The numbers don't lie just the COC. Like they will lie their way out of poor procurement process for diabolical school lunches. Be great if that sunk arrogant twerp?
This is such a cycle. John Key's govt sell off the state houses to their mates and increase homelessness. Labour make a long term plan to build via Kāinga Ora and Kiwi Build (eventually combined) and a short term plan of using emergency housing to get people off the streets. The houses eventually get built. National back in power, put the people into the houses Labour built or back onto the street, claim victory. Start to sell the state houses and privatise again.... increase in homelessness again. It's...so... frustrating!!
Its terrible, in my head I've reduced it to the fundamental difference between Labour/Greens/TPM and ACT/Nats/NZF. The first group = people, the second group = profit.
It's quite sobering when you look at it as a one liner like that.
It is sobering! I actually had a little freak out this morning when I heard on the radio a person representing private investment groups saying it's the only way we'll afford all the infrastructure we need as a country. And ironically I was driving past Graham Hart's house at just that moment. And in my head popped up this image of all these billionaires sitting on ever increasing piles of gold and making it at the expense of our public healthcare, public water etc. We know that if everything is privatised we'll end up sitting in the dark, making life or death decisions about our health, while they are off playing in the Caribbean on yachts. It freaked me out.

Good idea

Bishop's escaped a lot of scrutiny too for some reason. But yes their PR can only go so far when the facts come forward.

It is and I don't understand why most people don't care to be honest.

Insightful and well worth reading even though it is so disappointing to realise how NZ citizens are being misled by our govt and media
god this mad me infuriated. I mean the outright lying and self righteousness. can't find words mad.
