Dr Lester Levy is charging $320,000 a year to be a part time Health NZ commissioner. Rachel Thomas reports that Levy is still teaching 2 days a week at the University of Auckland. Levy continues to dodge media, except for Newstalk ZB and journalist Nicole Bremner who helped Levy to suggest doctors and nurses who spoke up were part of the “resistance.” Levy agreed, calling it “sabotage”.
The Waitangi Tribunal calls National Minister Paul Goldsmith out for political and personal deficiencies. Tim Murphy quotes from the judiciary’s finding, noting that Goldsmith is going over and above the Coalition agreement in rolling back Māori rights, is operating in bad faith, acting as a political opportunist, and appears uninterested in any genuine dialogue.
