Immediately after Hipkins’ speech, National House Leader Chris Bishop rose to defer the debate, without giving the opposition notice.
This means no other opposition members were allowed to speak, despite the government scheduling the debate for today.
A shortened clip of 3 minutes for those short on time:
Tin-Pot Democracy
I was right in this morning’s article.
As I anticipated it was ACT List MP Parjmeet Parmar who asked about the imprisonment option for Te Pati Māori MPs.
She’s the same MP who drafted a member’s bill against any university policies targeting Māori and Pasifika students but couldn’t name a single one.
Finally - note: National is emulating ACT Party marketing practices with cheap tactics and culture wars.
